Dear Members of NYSSRS and our Esteemed Community,

Happy September and start of the Fall Season! I hope that everyone had a wonderful summer. We are very quickly approaching our 77^th Annual NYSSRS & 5^th dual NYSSRS & RTANYS Conference. Reminder, that the dates of the conference this year are Thursday November 5^th – Saturday November 7^th, 2026, at the Rivers Casino & Resort/The Landing Hotel in Schenectady, NY. Your Board Officers, Committee Chairs and Committees have been working diligently to ensure a wonderful conference experience for all.

I would like to take this opportunity to share some important conference updates and reminders:

1. 2026 Election Year!: This year is an election year! Our Nominating Committee is prepared to present a slate of officers at the first business meeting of our annual meeting which is currently planned for the afternoon of Friday November 6^th. Nominations are currently open! The offices that are currently available for nomination are President-Elect, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Director, and Nominating Committee Chair. We are actively seeking someone that is interested in fulfilling the role of Treasurer. If you are interested in self-nominating or nominating someone for the office of Treasurer or any other open office, please send an e-mail to Members.NYSSRS@gmail.com with the name and position of the nominee. If you are interested in learning the responsibilities of each office, please look at our Bylaws on our website at the following link: https://www.nyssrs.org/BYLAWS-&-HISTORY

2. Student Competitions: The student competition rules, topics, and themes for this year are posted on our website. A huge thank you to our Education Committee for all their work in selecting the topics for this year and establishing the rules and criteria. 3. Conference Schedule: We will be posting the official conference schedule to our website within the next few weeks. We are very excited for this year’s slate of speakers! Please note, that conference registration starts Thursday 11/5 at 1:00pm. The theme for the President’s Reception this year is Greek Mythology! We are always excited to see the creativity behind everyone’s costumes!

4. Hotel Room Rate Deadline: The hotel room rate of $155.00/night expires Thursday October 22nd. After 10/22/2026 at 11:59pm, the conference hotel room rate will no longer be available. 5. ASRT Student to Leadership Development Program (SLDP): Applications for the ASRT SLDP are open NOW through to October 31^st, 2026! Please take a look at the flyer on the next page and scan the QR code to apply!

Dear Members of NYSSRS and our Esteemed Community,

The Board and I hope that everyone is doing well! For those of you that attended the 76^th Annual NYSSRS and 4^th Dual RTANYS conference this past October, it was great to see you, and we hope that you enjoyed the event! We have already started planning for next year’s event and are excited to bring you another amazing annual meeting experience.

I imagine that everyone had an excellent National Radiologic Technology Week (NRTW) this past November. I hope that your workplaces took the time to recognize, celebrate and honor Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy professionals and our essential contributions to promote a safe and high-quality patient experience. Thank you for all that you do, for every effort that you make to maintain your bar of excellence and going above and beyond for every patient that you serve. On November 8^th, 2025, NYSSRS and RTANYS celebrated NRTW by participating in the ASRT 5K RAD DASH at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) parks in Saratoga Springs, NY. Our team’s name was “Image Wisely, Run Wildly – New York”. It was a beautiful Fall Day and a great opportunity for our members to get out in the Community to increase our visibility as Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy professionals. Thank you to all who attended!

As we quickly approach the New Year, we have some important announcements that we would like to share with all of you:

1. 2025 Fall Conference Review: Thank you again for joining us for our 76^th Annual NYSSRS and 4^th Dual RTANYS conference this past October. A huge shoutout to all of our vendors! We had over 20 local, national or global vendors present at this year’s event. We would not be able to host our annual conference without your support. We look forward to seeing you all next year! Thank you to our speakers for your excellent lectures and keeping us engaged throughout the event! Please visit our Student Competitions webpage at https://nyssrs.org/Student-Competitions for a list of our student winners. Congratulations and a round of applause to all! A huge thank you to our Treasurer, John Tramposch, and President-Elect, Tabitha Sabater, for compiling all conference attendee CE documents and posting them to each membership profile. To reference your copy of this year’s CE documentation form, please log in to our website and navigate to the top right corner icon (see image to the right) to access your profile.
